Theory to Practice-Ashwas Bhavan Site Visit

1. Site visit to Ashwas Bhavan

Practical knowledge is very vital in the formation of true professionals, and hence a skill improvement program-‘Theory to Practice’, is organized by the Civil engineering department. This program aims to help the students to channelize the expertise in theory to excellence in practice. As the part of the ‘Theory to Practice’ program, the first site visit was held on 17^th August 2016 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Babu T Jose, Director, AISAT. The team consisted of the fifth semester B.Tech students accompanied by faculty members Ms.Sheeja.M.K, Mr.Rahul R Pai and Mr.Neeraj U.K of Civil Engineering department. The team visited the site of Ashwas Bhavan- I at Eloor. Prof. Vincent K John, Vice Principal, AISAT introduced the ‘Expert of the Day’ Er. Jose Babu, an eminent personality in the field of Civil Engineering.

 Overview of the site

Ashwas Bhavan-I, a residential building under construction is a project of Ashwas Center, AISAT. It is located at Vadakkumbagam,Eloor,Kochi with a Plot area:2.50 cent and total Plinth area:465 sqft

2. Technical session  

A session on ‘Stone masonry’ was delivered to the S5 Civil engineering students on 7^th September 2016 as part of the academic improvement program ‘Theory to Practice’. The session was indeed an interactive one and was jointly handled by Asst.Prof. Sheeja M.K, Asst.Prof. Neeraj U.K and Asst.Prof. Aleena Tom. Prof. Dr. Babu T. Jose, Director AISAT, Prof. Vincent K John, Vice Principal and other faculty members also attended the session.
