August 15 2017 marked 70 years of Independence for India. As part of this day, NSS members had conducted a quiz contest titled ‘Freedom Quiz’. The quiz was based on India’s freedom struggle and the great leaders who made it possible. NSS Volunteer secretary Riya Antony had prepared the questions for the contest and it was conducted during the last hour on Monday 14th August 2017. Ms. Reeta Jojo played the role of quiz master. The event started with the NSS prayer song by NSS member Ms. Muhzeena. NSS Volunteer Secretary Anderson Britto started the event with a welcome address and handed over the rest of the program to Ms. Reeta Jojo. There were 10 teams and a preliminary round was held beforehand to select the finalists. Four teams made it to the final. The competition had two rounds and the team from S3 EEE emerged as the victors. S3 ME were the runners-up and S1 CSE finished third. The event ended by 4:20 and it was time for the swachhatha pledge. All the members who were gathered pledged their dedication to making a swachh Bharat. The program ended with a patriotic song by the NSS members of S5 CSE.
