IEEE orientation was conducted on 23 January 2018 at 10:30am in the seminar hall. This session was conducted by Akash P Nambiar, student representative and Juliana Biju, WIE coordinator of Kochi hub. It was an introductory program on various opportunities provided by IEEE.
IEEE is the world’s largest association of technical professionals with more than 420,000 members in over 160 countries around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.
It was an interactive session in which various fields like technical, managerial and volunteering were explored. Several opportunities like paper presentation, workshops, funding of projects etc were discussed by Akash P Nambiar.
Juliana Biju talked about IEEE WIE. IEEE WIE is a professional organization which is dedicated for promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering.
The session was very interesting and helpful for the students to know more about IEEE.
